|Other Names||Caspase-3, CASP-3, 184.108.40.206, Apopain, Cysteine protease CPP32, CPP-32, Protein Yama, SREBP cleavage activity 1, SCA-1, Caspase-3 subunit p17, Caspase-3 subunit p12, CASP3, CPP32|
|Target/Specificity||Rabbit anti-Human Caspase-3 antibody recognizes the Caspase-3 cell death protease, also known as CPP32, YAMA and apopain. Caspase-3 is a ~32 kDa protein, activated during apoptosis by cleavage into 17 kDa and 11 kDa fragments. Rabbit anti-Human Caspase-3 antibody recognizes both intact Caspase-3 and the 17 kDa fragment, but not the 11 kDa fragment.In immunohistochemical studies Caspase-3 expression has been shown to be widespread, but not present in all cell types. Differences in the level of Caspase-3 have been reported in cells of short-lived nature (e.g. germinal centre B cells) and those that are long lived (e.g. mantle zone B cells).|
