Anti-Human Caspase-3 Antibody (Serum)

Rabbit Anti-Human Polyclonal Antibody

  • FC - Anti-Human Caspase-3 Antibody (Serum) ABD10051
Published customer image:Rabbit anti Human Caspase-3 antibody used foir the detection of caspase-3 expressing cells in Salmonella enterica infected mouse liver vibratome sections by immunohistochemistry.Image caption: Infected Tissues Have Significant Inflammatory Lesions at 1 wk and 3 wk but Contain Few Caspase-3-Positive Cells. Light microscopy of hematoxylin (purple), eosin (pink), and caspase-3 (brown, arrows) stained liver thin sections over an infection time course. Enlarged images of the boxed regions on the left (200- µm scale bars) are shown on the right (50- µm scale bars). Arrowheads show inflammatory lesions: (A–B) 4 d post-infection; (C–D) 1 wk; (E–F) 3 wk; and (G–H) 8 wk.From: Nix RN, Altschuler SE, Henson PM, Detweiler CS Hemophagocytic Macrophages Harbor Salmonella enterica during Persistent Infection.PLoS Pathog 3: e193.

Other Names Caspase-3, CASP-3,, Apopain, Cysteine protease CPP32, CPP-32, Protein Yama, SREBP cleavage activity 1, SCA-1, Caspase-3 subunit p17, Caspase-3 subunit p12, CASP3, CPP32
Target/Specificity Rabbit anti-Human Caspase-3 antibody recognizes the Caspase-3 cell death protease, also known as CPP32, YAMA and apopain. Caspase-3 is a ~32 kDa protein, activated during apoptosis by cleavage into 17 kDa and 11 kDa fragments. Rabbit anti-Human Caspase-3 antibody recognizes both intact Caspase-3 and the 17 kDa fragment, but not the 11 kDa fragment. In immunohistochemical studies Caspase-3 expression has been shown to be widespread, but not present in all cell types. Differences in the level of Caspase-3 have been reported in cells of short-lived nature (e.g. germinal centre B cells) and those that are long lived (e.g. mantle zone B cells).
