Target/Specificity ABD10928 recognises sodium dependent glucose transporter 4 (SGLT4), also known as SLC5A9, a 76 kDa member of the solute carrier family. It is a transmembrane protein, expressed in the small intestine, liver and kidney. SLC5A9 functions as a low affinity, Na+ dependent, alpha-methyl-D-glucopyranoside (AMG) transporter. Mannose, glucose and fructose inhibit this transport activity. SLC5A9 is also thought likely to be involved in the absorption and/or reabsorption of Mannose, glucose, 1,5-anhydro-D-glucitol and fructose.
