|Target/Specificity||ABD11025 specifically recognises human chromogranin A, a 50kDa secretory glycoprotein and member of the chromogranin/secretogranin family, expressed by secretory vesicles of endocrine and neuroendocrine cells.Chromogranin A is a precursor for the functional peptides pancreastatin, vasostatin, parastatin and catestatin, which act as negative modulators of hormone and neurotransmitter release in the neuroendocrine system. The measurement of elevated serum levels of chromogranin A is used diagnostically for detecting and monitoring carcinoid (neuroendocrine) tumours, and correlates with a poor prognosis in patients with prostate cancer.|
