Immunogen | Synthetic peptide CQPRKLHFYKNGIKERFQITRINKTTARL corresponding to amino acids 59-87 within the N-terminal region of human IL-23 receptor. |
Shelf Life | 18 months from date of despatch. |
Gene ID | 149233 |
Other Names | Interleukin-23 receptor, IL-23 receptor, IL-23R, IL23R |
Target/Specificity | Goat anti-Human Interleukin-23 receptor antibody recognizes the human interleukin-23 receptor (IL-23R). The interleukin-23 receptor is 629 amino acid ~72kDa single pass type I transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the type I cytokine receptor family and posessing two fibronectin type III domains. Multiple potential isoforms formed by alternative splicing are described. Goat anti-Human Interleukin-23 receptor antibody recognizes an epitope within the N-terminal (NT) region of Interleukin-23 receptor (IL-23R), precsent in isoforms 1, 3 and 4 (UniProt: Q5VWK5), the anytibody is not expected to recognize other truncated forms of the receptor lacking the immunogen sequence. IL-23R is a mediator of T-cell, NK cell, and possibly macrophage/myeloid cell, stimulation acting as the receptor for IL-23, by association with the beta component of IL-12R and is thought to signal through activation of the JAK-STAT signalling pathway. Genetic variation in IL23R is associated with inflammatory bowel disease type 17 (Kistneret al.2006) and susceptibility to the ulcerative and inflammatory psoriasis (Hüffmeieret al.2009).Goat anti-Human Interleukin-23 receptor antibody is reported as suitable for use in immunocytochemistry on acetone fixed cells and has been used successfully for the immunohistochemical localization of IL-23R in formalin fixed, paraffin embedded human tissues. . |
