|Target/Specificity||Goat anti-Human NQO1 antibody recognizes human NAD(P)H dehydrogenase [quinone] 1, also known as NQO1, Azoreductase, DT-diaphorase DTD, Menadione reductase, NAD(P)H:quinone oxidoreductase 1, Phylloquinone reductase or Quinone reductase 1. NQO1 is a 273 amino acid ~30 kDa cytoplasmic enzyme involved in quinone reduction.Multiple isoforms of NQO1 generated by alternative splicing have been described. Goat anti-Human NQO1 antibody (ABD11198) is expected to recognize all described isoforms (UniProt : P15559)NQO1 is expressed in a wide range of tissues and is overexpressed in many human tumours including lung, brain, liver, colon and breast (Beyet al.2007). The ability of NQO1 to bioactivate anti-tumour quinones including mitomycin C and diaziquone, has become a focus area for chemotherapeutic studies (Kelseyet al.1997). Mutations in the NQO1 gene are associated with an increased risk of certain cancers, and an increased risk of leukaemia has been associated with diminished NQO1 activity (Smithet al.2001).|
