Gene ID 2668
Other Names Glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor, hGDNF, Astrocyte-derived trophic factor, ATF, GDNF
Target/Specificity Rabbit anti-Human GDNF antibody recognizes human GDNF (Glial cell line-derived growth factor), a glycosylated, disulfide-bonded homodimer which shares structural homology with Persephin, Artemin and Neurturin and has been identified as specifically promoting the uptake of dopamine, and consequently the survival and function, of midbrain dopamine (DA) neurons. The ability of GDNF to promote the development of DA neurons in the brain has become a focus area for studies into Parkinsons disease, which is itself characterised by the progressive degeneration of midbrain DA neurons (Granholmet al.2000).
Preservative & Stabilisers Preservative Free
Storage Prior to reconstitution store at +4℃. Following reconstitution store at -20℃.
PrecautionsAnti-Human GDNF Antibody is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
