|Target/Specificity||Goat anti-Human MCM4 antibody recognizes DNA replication licensing factor MCM4, also known as human minichromosome maintenance 4 (MCM4) or CDC21 homolog. Human MCM4 is an 863 amino acid, ~95kDa nuclear component of the MCM complex containing a single MCMdomain.MCM4 is involved in the initiation and control of eukaryotic DNA replication. Studies show that MCM4 forms a hexameric protein complex with MCM6 and 7, which has DNA helicase activity, and may act as a DNA unwinding enzyme (Kanteret al.2008). The phosphorylation of MCM4 by CDC2 kinase reduces the DNA helicase activity and chromatin binding of the MCM complex (Ishimi and Komamura-Kohno 2001).|
