|Reactivity||Human, Mouse, Rat|
|Calculated MW||34277 Da|
|Application & Usage||Western blot analysis (0.5-4 µg/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually. The antibody detects the full length (35-37 kDa) and the large fragment (20-25 kDa) of processed caspase-7 by Western blotting. Mouse small intestine tissue lysate can be used as a positive control.|
|Other Names||CASP7, CASP-7, ICE-LAP3, CMH-1, MCH3, EC 18.104.22.168|
|Formulation||100 µg (200 µg/ml) affinity purified rabbit anti-caspase-7 polyclonal antibody in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 30% glycerol, 0.5% BSA, 0.01% thimerosal.|
|Handling||The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use.|
|Reconstitution & Storage||-20 °C|
|Precautions||Caspase-7 Antibody is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.|
|Function||Involved in the activation cascade of caspases responsible for apoptosis execution. Cleaves and activates sterol regulatory element binding proteins (SREBPs). Proteolytically cleaves poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) at a '216-Asp-|-Gly- 217' bond. Overexpression promotes programmed cell death.|
|Tissue Location||Highly expressed in lung, skeletal muscle, liver, kidney, spleen and heart, and moderately in testis. No expression in the brain|

Provided below are standard protocols that you may find useful for product applications.
Caspase-7 is a 34 kDa protein consisting of two subunits and a short prodomain. The procaspase-7 can be activated by cleavage by upstream caspases to form active caspase-7 in apoptosis. Once activated, caspase-7 cleaves many of the same substrates as caspase-3, including poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) and sterol regulatory element binding proteins (SREBPs).
