|Reactivity||Human, Mouse, Rat|
|Calculated MW||11165 Da|
|Application & Usage||Western blotting (0.5-4 µg/ml) in samples from human, mouse and rat origins. However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually. The antibody detects the 25 kDa large subunit of caspase-8. It does not detect the full-length of caspase-8.|
|Other Names||death associate protein-1, death associate protein 1|
|Formulation||100 µg (0.2 mg/ml) affinity purified rabbit polyclonal antibody in PBS containing 50% glycerol, 0.5% BSA, and 0.01% thimerosal.|
|Handling||The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use.|
|Reconstitution & Storage||-20 °C|
|Precautions||DAP1 Antibody is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.|
|Function||Negative regulator of autophagy. Involved in mediating interferon-gamma-induced cell death.|

Death Associated Protein 1 (DAP1) is a 15 kDa protein that functions as a positive mediator of cell death initiated by interferon-gamma. The DAP1 protein is praline-rich and possesses one SH3 binding motif, as well as several consensus protein kinase phosphorylation sites. The protein is localized in the cytoplasma, however the detailed mechanism of its proapoptotic function is unclear.
