Background

Endonuclease G (EndoG) is a mitochondrion-specific nuclease that specifically activated by apoptotic stimuli and translocates to the nucleus during apoptosis. In nucleus, EndoG induces nucleosomal fragmentation of DNA independent of caspase and DFF/CAD.
