|Reactivity||Human, Mouse, Rat|
|Calculated MW||20132 Da|
|Application & Usage||Western blotting (0.5-4 µg/ml), immunoprecipitation, and Immunohistochemistry. However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually. The A1 antibody detects A1 (Bfl-1) of human, mouse, and rat origins.|
|Target/Specificity||Bcl-2-related protein A1|
|Formulation||100 µg (0.2 mg/ml) protein A purified rabbit anti-A1 polyclonal antibody in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 30% glycerol, 0.5% BSA, 0.01% thimerosal.|
|Handling||The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use.|
|Reconstitution & Storage||-20 °C|
|Precautions||A1 Antibody is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.|
|Synonyms||BCL2L5, BFL1, GRS, HBPA1|
|Function||Retards apoptosis induced by IL-3 deprivation. May function in the response of hemopoietic cells to external signals and in maintaining endothelial survival during infection (By similarity).|
|Tissue Location||Seems to be restricted to the hematopoietic compartment. Expressed in peripheral blood, spleen, and bone marrow, at moderate levels in lung, small intestine and testis, at a minimal levels in other tissues. Also found in vascular smooth muscle cells and hematopoietic malignancies|

Provided below are standard protocols that you may find useful for product applications.
A1 (also designated Bfl-1) is a Bcl-2 family protein that dimerizes with both Bcl-2 and Bax, and has been identified as a hematopoietic-specific, early inducible gene. Altho µgh A1 demonstrated properties similar to those of Bcl-2, its function may be more temporally regulated during myeloid differentiation and is dependent on additional growth stimuli to confer its life promoting properties. A1 is abundantly expressed in bone marrow and at low levels in other tissues. A1 expression has been correlated to stomach cancer.
