Application & Usage | Western blot analysis (2-4 µg/ml). Per researchers feedback, the antibody also works well in Immunoprecipation (10-20 µg/ml), and Immunohistochemistry (20-40 µg/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually. Detects 55-60 kDa Bcl-3 of human, mouse, and rat origins. Other species have not been tested. |

Precautions | Bcl-3 Antibody is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. |
Name | BCL3 |

Synonyms | BCL4, D19S37 |
Function | Contributes to the regulation of transcriptional activation of NF-kappa-B target genes. In the cytoplasm, inhibits the nuclear translocation of the NF-kappa-B p50 subunit. In the nucleus, acts as transcriptional activator that promotes transcription of NF-kappa-B target genes. Contributes to the regulation of cell proliferation (By similarity). |
Cellular Location | Nucleus. Cytoplasm. Cytoplasm, perinuclear region. Note=Ubiquitination via 'Lys-63'- linked ubiquitin chains is required for nuclear accumulation |

Background
Bcl-3, a proto-oncogene, is believed to be involved in certain human B cell leukemias. It encodes a protein that functions as an IkB-like molecule for native NFkB, but is specific for the p50 subunit of NFkB.
