BACKGROUND

Bcl-6 (also known as LAZ3) is a member of the POZ/zinc finger (POK) family that contains an N-terminal POZ domain and 6 C-terminal zinc finger motifs (1). Bcl-6 is a transcriptional regulator that plays an important role in lymphocyte, myocyte, male germ cells, and keratinocyte survival and or differentiation (2-3). Bcl-6 has also been found to repress a number of genes involved in B cell activation and terminal differentiation, inflammation and cell cycle regulation (4). Chromosomal aberration in Bcl-6 may be a cause of B-cell non Hodgkin lymphoma and B-cell leukemia (5).
