Reactivity Human, Mouse, Rat
Host Rabbit
Clonality Monoclonal
Clone Names E113
Calculated MW 36688 Da
Gene ID 1385
Other Names Cyclic AMP-responsive element-binding protein 1, CREB-1, cAMP-responsive element-binding protein 1, CREB1
Target/Specificity A synthetic phospho-peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Ser133 of human CREB was used as immunogen. The antibody only detects CREB phosphorylated on Serine 133. Predicted to cross-react with bovine, chicken, and zebra fish, based on sequence homology.
Dilution IHC~~1:250
Format 50 mM Tris-Glycine (pH 7.4), 0.15 M NaCl, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% sodium azide and 0.05% BSA.
StorageMaintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20°C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
PrecautionsCreb Antibody Phospho (pS133) is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
Protein Information
Name CREB1
Function Phosphorylation-dependent transcription factor that stimulates transcription upon binding to the DNA cAMP response element (CRE), a sequence present in many viral and cellular promoters. Transcription activation is enhanced by the TORC coactivators which act independently of Ser-133 phosphorylation. Involved in different cellular processes including the synchronization of circadian rhythmicity and the differentiation of adipose cells.

CREB is a transcription factor protein that binds the cAMP response element (CRE), thereby stimulating transcription of this sequence. CREB plays a role in propagating numerous extracellular signals to the nuclues (1-3). CREB is activated by phosphorylation at the Ser133 position by various signaling pathways, and some of the kinases involved in phosphorylating CREB at Ser133 are p90RSK, MSK, CaMKIV and MAPKAPK-2 (1-3).
