|Application ||WB, IHC, FC, ICC, E|
|Description||This gene encodes a member of the alpha tubulin protein family. Alpha tubulins are one of two core protein families (alpha and beta tubulins) that heterodimerize and assemble to form microtubules. Mutations in this gene are associated with polymicrogyria and optic nerve hypoplasia. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants.|
|Immunogen||Purified recombinant fragment of human TUBA8 expressed in E. Coli. |
|Formulation||Ascitic fluid containing 0.03% sodium azide. |
WB~~1/500 - 1/2000
IHC~~1/200 - 1/1000
IF~~1/200 - 1/1000
FC~~1/200 - 1/400
|Storage||Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20°C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.|
|Precautions||TUBA8 Antibody is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.|
|Function||Tubulin is the major constituent of microtubules. It binds two moles of GTP, one at an exchangeable site on the beta chain and one at a non-exchangeable site on the alpha chain.|
|Cellular Location||Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton.|
|Tissue Location||Preferentially expressed in heart, skeletal muscle and testis. Expressed at low levels in the developing brain.|
