Target/Specificity This PACS2 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 642-671 amino acids from the C-terminal region of human PACS2.
Dilution WB~~1:1000
IHC-P~~1:10~50
Format Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is purified through a protein A column, followed by peptide affinity purification.
StorageMaintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 2 weeks. For long term storage store at -20°C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
PrecautionsPACS2 Antibody (C-term) is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
Protein Information
Name PACS2
Synonyms KIAA0602, PACS1L
Function Multifunctional sorting protein that controls the endoplasmic reticulum (ER)-mitochondria communication, including the apposition of mitochondria with the ER and ER homeostasis. In addition, in response to apoptic inducer, translocates BIB to mitochondria, which initiates a sequence of events including the formation of mitochondrial truncated BID, the release of cytochrome c, the activation of caspase-3 thereby causing cell death. May also be involved in ion channel trafficking, directing acidic cluster-containing ion channels to distinct subcellular compartments.
Cellular Location Endoplasmic reticulum lumen. Mitochondrion
Tissue Location Broadly expressed, with greatest levels in skeletal muscle followed by heart, brain, pancreas and testis
