|Application ||WB, E|
|Calculated MW||22395 Da|
|Antigen Region||37-66 aa|
|Other Names||Phosphopantothenoylcysteine decarboxylase, PPC-DC, CoaC, PPCDC, COAC|
|Target/Specificity||This PPCDC antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 37-66 amino acids from the N-terminal region of human PPCDC.|
|Format||Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is purified through a protein A column, followed by peptide affinity purification.|
|Storage||Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 2 weeks. For long term storage store at -20°C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.|
|Precautions||PPCDC Antibody (N-term) is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.|
|Function||Necessary for the biosynthesis of coenzyme A. Catalyzes the decarboxylation of 4-phosphopantothenoylcysteine to form 4'- phosphopantotheine.|

Biosynthesis of coenzyme A (CoA) from pantothenic acid (vitamin B5) is an essential universal pathway in prokaryotes and eukaryotes. PPCDC (EC 220.127.116.11), one of the last enzymes in this pathway, converts phosphopantothenoylcysteine to 4-prime-phosphopantetheine (Daugherty et al., 2002 [PubMed 11923312]).
