Target/Specificity This CIAO1 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 155-183 amino acids from the Central region of human CIAO1.
Dilution WB~~1:1000
IHC-P~~1:10~50
Format Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is purified through a protein A column, followed by peptide affinity purification.
StorageMaintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 2 weeks. For long term storage store at -20°C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
PrecautionsCIAO1 Antibody (Center) is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
Protein Information
Name CIAO1 {ECO:0000255|HAMAP-Rule:MF_03037}
Function Key component of the cytosolic iron-sulfur protein assembly (CIA) complex, a multiprotein complex that mediates the incorporation of iron-sulfur cluster into extramitochondrial Fe/S proteins (PubMed:17937914, PubMed:23891004). As a CIA complex component, interacts specifically with CIAO2A or CIAO2B and MMS19 to assist different branches of iron-sulfur protein assembly, depending of its interactors. The complex CIAO1:CIAO2B:MMS19 binds to and facilitates the assembly of most cytosolic-nuclear Fe/S proteins. CIAO1:CIAO2A specifically matures ACO1 and stabilizes IREB2 (PubMed:23891004). Seems to specifically modulate the transactivation activity of WT1 (PubMed:9556563). As part of the mitotic spindle-associated MMXD complex it may play a role in chromosome segregation (PubMed:20797633).
Cellular Location Cytoplasm.

Background

CIAO1 is an essential component of the cytosolic iron-sulfur (Fe/S) protein assembly machinery. Required for the maturation of extramitochondrial Fe/S proteins. Seems to specifically modulate the transactivation activity of WT1.
