Other Names
ALDH3A2; ALDH10; FALDH; Fatty aldehyde dehydrogenase; Aldehyde dehydrogenase 10; Aldehyde dehydrogenase family 3 member A2; Microsomal aldehyde dehydrogenase
Target/Specificity
This ALDH3A2 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide selected from the N-terminal region of human *ALDH3A2 Antibody (N-term).
Dilution
WB~~1:100~500
IHC~~1:50
Format
Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is purified through a protein G column, eluted with high and low pH buffers and neutralized immediately, followed by dialysis against PBS.
Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20°C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
Precautions
ALDH3A2 Antibody (N-term) is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.

ALDH3A2 Antibody (N-term) - Protein Information

Name ALDH3A2
Synonyms ALDH10, FALDH
Function
Catalyzes the oxidation of long-chain aliphatic aldehydes to fatty acids. Active on a variety of saturated and unsaturated aliphatic aldehydes between 6 and 24 carbons in length. Responsible for conversion of the sphingosine 1-phosphate (S1P) degradation product hexadecenal to hexadecenoic acid
Cellular Location
Endoplasmic reticulum membrane; Single-pass membrane protein; Cytoplasmic side

ALDH3A2 Antibody (N-term) - Application data

  • Western blot analysis of anti-ALDH3A2 Antibody (N-term) Pab (Cat.#AP1468a) in mouse heart tissue lysates (35ug/lane). ALDH3A2 (arrow) was detected using the purified Pab (1:60 dilution).

  • Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human hepatocarcinoma tissue reacted with ALDH3A2 antibody (N-term)(Cat.#AP1468a), which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated.

BACKGROUND

Aldehyde dehydrogenase isozymes are thought to play a major role in the detoxification of aldehydes generated by alcohol metabolism and lipid peroxidation. ALDH3A2 catalyzes the oxidation of long-chain aliphatic aldehydes to fatty acid. Mutations in the gene cause Sjogren-Larsson syndrome.
