- CITATIONS: 1
|Application ||WB, E|
|Calculated MW||86397 Da|
|Antigen Region||539-567 aa|
|Other Names||Smoothened homolog, SMO, Protein Gx, SMO, SMOH|
|Target/Specificity||This SMO antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 539-567 amino acids from the Central region of human SMO.|
|Format||Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is purified through a protein A column, followed by peptide affinity purification.|
|Storage||Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 2 weeks. For long term storage store at -20°C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.|
|Precautions||SMO Antibody (Center) is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.|
|Function||G protein-coupled receptor that probably associates with the patched protein (PTCH) to transduce the hedgehog's proteins signal. Binding of sonic hedgehog (SHH) to its receptor patched is thought to prevent normal inhibition by patched of smoothened (SMO). Required for the accumulation of KIF7 and GLI3 in the cilia.|
|Cellular Location||Membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. Cell projection, cilium|
Provided below are standard protocols that you may find useful for product applications.
The protein encoded by this gene is a G protein-coupled receptor that interacts with the patched protein, a receptor for hedgehog proteins. The encoded protein tranduces signals to other proteins after activation by a hedgehog protein/patched protein complex.
