|Application ||WB, E|
|Calculated MW||48350 Da|
|Antigen Region||152-180 aa|
|Other Names||GTPase Era, mitochondrial, H-ERA, hERA, Conserved ERA-like GTPase, CEGA, ERA-W, ERA-like protein 1, ERAL1, HERA|
|Target/Specificity||This ERAL1 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 152-180 amino acids from the Central region of human ERAL1.|
|Format||Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is purified through a protein A column, followed by peptide affinity purification.|
|Storage||Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 2 weeks. For long term storage store at -20°C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.|
|Precautions||ERAL1 Antibody (Center) is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.|
|Function||Probable GTPase that plays a role in the mitochondrial ribosomal small subunit assembly. Specifically binds the 12S mitochondrial rRNA (12S mt-rRNA) to a 33 nucleotide section delineating the 3' terminal stem-loop region. May act as a chaperone that protects the 12S mt-rRNA on the 28S mitoribosomal subunit during ribosomal small subunit assembly.|
|Cellular Location||Mitochondrion matrix. Mitochondrion inner membrane; Peripheral membrane protein. Note=Localizes on the matrix side on the mitochondrial inner membrane|

Era is an essential GTPase that is required for proper cell cycle progression and cell division in E. coli. Human homologues have been isolated which have been designated ERAL1A and ERAL1B.
