|Application ||WB, E|
|Calculated MW||42072 Da|
|Antigen Region||28-55 aa|
|Other Names||1-acyl-sn-glycerol-3-phosphate acyltransferase epsilon, 1-acylglycerol-3-phosphate O-acyltransferase 5, 1-AGP acyltransferase 5, 1-AGPAT 5, Lysophosphatidic acid acyltransferase epsilon, LPAAT-epsilon, AGPAT5|
|Target/Specificity||This AGPAT5 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 28-55 amino acids from the N-terminal region of human AGPAT5.|
|Format||Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is purified through a protein A column, followed by peptide affinity purification.|
|Storage||Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 2 weeks. For long term storage store at -20°C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.|
|Precautions||AGPAT5 Antibody (N-term) is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.|
|Function||Converts lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) into phosphatidic acid by incorporating an acyl moiety at the sn-2 position of the glycerol backbone. Acts on LPA containing saturated or unsaturated fatty acids C15:0-C20:4 at the sn-1 position using C18:1-CoA as the acyl donor. Also acts on lysophosphatidylethanolamine using oleoyl-CoA, but not arachidonoyl-CoA, and lysophosphatidylinositol using arachidonoyl-CoA, but not oleoyl-CoA. Activity toward lysophosphatidylglycerol not detectable.|
|Cellular Location||Endoplasmic reticulum membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. Nucleus envelope. Mitochondrion|
|Tissue Location||Widely expressed.|

This gene encodes a member of the 1-acylglycerol-3-phosphate O-acyltransferase family. This integral membrane protein converts lysophosphatidic acid to phosphatidic acid, the second step in de novo phospholipid biosynthesis.
