KCTD21 Antibody (C-term)

Peptide Affinity Purified Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody (Pab)

  • WB - KCTD21 Antibody (C-term) AP5408b
    KCTD21 Antibody (C-term)(Cat. #AP5408b) western blot analysis in mouse NIH-3T3 cell line lysates (35ug/lane).This demonstrates the KCTD21 antibody detected the KCTD21 protein (arrow).
  • IHC-P - KCTD21 Antibody (C-term) AP5408b
    KCTD21 Antibody (C-term) (Cat. #AP5408b) immunohistochemistry analysis in formalin fixed and paraffin embedded human brain tissue followed by peroxidase conjugation of the secondary antibody and DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of the KCTD21 Antibody (C-term) for immunohistochemistry. Clinical relevance has not been evaluated.
  • FC - KCTD21 Antibody (C-term) AP5408b
    KCTD21 Antibody (C-term) (Cat. #AP5408b) flow cytometric analysis of 293 cells (right histogram) compared to a negative control cell (left histogram).FITC-conjugated goat-anti-rabbit secondary antibodies were used for the analysis.

Protein Information
Name KCTD21
Function Probable substrate-specific adapter of a BCR (BTB-CUL3- RBX1) E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complex mediating the ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of target proteins. Promotes the ubiquitination of HDAC1. Can function as antagonist of the Hedgehog pathway by affecting the nuclear transfer of transcription factor GLI1; the function probably occurs via HDAC1 down-regulation, keeping GLI1 acetylated and inactive. Inhibits cell growth and tumorigenicity of medulloblastoma (MDB) (PubMed:21472142).
Tissue Location Highly expressed in cerebellum and brain. Expression is down-regulated in medulloblastoma EMBL; AK300320; BAG62072.1; -; mRNA EMBL; BC036058; AAH36058.1; -; mRNA CCDS; CCDS31645.1; - RefSeq; NP_001025030.1; NM_001029859.2 RefSeq; XP_005273985.1; XM_005273928.1 RefSeq; XP_006718580.1; XM_006718517.2 RefSeq; XP_006718581.1; XM_006718518.3 RefSeq; XP_011543257.1; XM_011544955.2 UniGene; Hs.528439; - ProteinModelPortal; Q4G0X4; - SMR; Q4G0X4; - BioGrid; 129500; 13 IntAct; Q4G0X4; 11 iPTMnet; Q4G0X4; - PhosphoSitePlus; Q4G0X4; - BioMuta; KCTD21; - DMDM; 121943921; - EPD; Q4G0X4; - MaxQB; Q4G0X4; - PaxDb; Q4G0X4; - PeptideAtlas; Q4G0X4; - PRIDE; Q4G0X4; - ProteomicsDB; 62137; - Ensembl; ENST00000340067; ENSP00000339340; ENSG00000188997 GeneID; 283219; - KEGG; hsa:283219; - UCSC; uc001ozb.4; human CTD; 283219; - DisGeNET; 283219; - EuPathDB; HostDB:ENSG00000188997.7; - GeneCards; KCTD21; - HGNC; HGNC:27452; KCTD21 HPA; HPA041964; - neXtProt; NX_Q4G0X4; - OpenTargets; ENSG00000188997; - PharmGKB; PA145148689; - eggNOG; KOG2723; Eukaryota eggNOG; ENOG410Z155; LUCA GeneTree; ENSGT00760000119013; - HOGENOM; HOG000231837; - HOVERGEN; HBG080457; - InParanoid; Q4G0X4; - KO; K21922; - OMA; YTRQNLK; - OrthoDB; EOG091G0DC8; - PhylomeDB; Q4G0X4; - TreeFam; TF315332; - UniPathway; UPA00143; - ChiTaRS; KCTD21; human GenomeRNAi; 283219; - PRO; PR:Q4G0X4; - Proteomes; UP000005640; Chromosome 11 Bgee; ENSG00000188997; - CleanEx; HS_KCTD21; - ExpressionAtlas; Q4G0X4; baseline and differential Genevisible; Q4G0X4; HS GO; GO:0097602; F:cullin family protein binding; IDA:UniProtKB GO; GO:0042826; F:histone deacetylase binding; IDA:UniProtKB GO; GO:0042802; F:identical protein binding; IPI:IntAct GO; GO:0045879; P:negative regulation of smoothened signaling pathway; IDA:UniProtKB GO; GO:0051260; P:protein homooligomerization; IEA:InterPro GO; GO:0016567; P:protein ubiquitination; IEA:UniProtKB-UniPathway GO; GO:0040008; P:regulation of growth; IEA:UniProtKB-KW GO; GO:0006511; P:ubiquitin-dependent protein catabolic process; IDA:UniProtKB InterPro; IPR000210; BTB/POZ_dom InterPro; IPR011333; SKP1/BTB/POZ_sf InterPro; IPR003131; T1-type_BTB Pfam; PF02214; BTB_2; 1 SMART; SM00225; BTB; 1 SUPFAM; SSF54695; SSF54695; 1 PROSITE; PS50097; BTB; 1 1: Evidence at protein level; Coiled coil; Complete proteome; Growth regulation; Reference proteome; Tumor suppressor; Ubl conjugation pathway CHAIN 1 260 BTB/POZ domain-containing protein KCTD21 /FTId=PRO_0000281151 DOMAIN 3 72 BTB. {ECO:0000255|PROSITE- ProRule:PRU00037} COILED 88 112 COMPBIAS 135 140 Poly-Ser MUTAGEN 85 87 DFY->KKK: Abolishes interaction with CUL3.
