ACADVL Antibody (N-term) - Additional info

Gene ID 37
Other Names
ACADVL; VLCAD; Very long-chain specific acyl-CoA dehydrogenase, mitochondrial
Target/Specificity
This ACADVL antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 50~79 amino acids from the N-terminal region of human ACADVL.
Dilution
WB~~1:50~100
IHC~~1:50~100
Format
Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is prepared by Saturated Ammonium Sulfate (SAS) precipitation followed by dialysis against PBS.
Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20°C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
Precautions
ACADVL Antibody (N-term) is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.

ACADVL Antibody (N-term) - Application data

  • Western blot analysis of ACADVL antibody (N-term) (Cat. #AP6597a) in NCI-H460 cell line lysates (35ug/lane). ACADVL (arrow) was detected using the purified Pab.

  • (LEFT)Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human lung carcinoma with ACADVL Antibody (N-term), which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated. (RIGHT)Flow cytometric analysis of NCI-H292 cells using ACADVL Antibody (N-term)(bottom histogram) compared to a negative control cell (top histogram). FITC-conjugated goat-anti-rabbit secondary antibodies were used for the analysis.

BACKGROUND

ACADVL is targeted to the inner mitochondrial membrane where it catalyzes the first step of the mitochondrial fatty acid beta-oxidation pathway. This acyl-Coenzyme A dehydrogenase is specific to long-chain and very-long-chain fatty acids. A deficiency in its gene product reduces myocardial fatty acid beta-oxidation and is associated with cardiomyopathy.
