  • Western blot analysis of NAL11 Antibody (Center) (Cat. #AP9991a) in HL-60 cell line lysates (35ug/lane). NAL11 (arrow) was detected using the purified Pab.

  • NAL11 Antibody (Center) (Cat. #AP9991a) IHC analysis in formalin fixed and paraffin embedded tonsil followed by peroxidase conjugation of the secondary antibody and DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of the NAL11 Antibody (Center) for immunohistochemistry. Clinical relevance has not been evaluated.

  • NAL11 Antibody (Center) (Cat. #AP9991a) flow cytometric analysis of HL-60 cells (right histogram) compared to a negative control cell (left histogram).FITC-conjugated goat-anti-rabbit secondary antibodies were used for the analysis.

BACKGROUND

NAL11 are cytoplasmic proteins that form a subfamily within the larger CATERPILLER protein family. Most short NALPs, such as NALP11, have an N-terminal pyrin (MEFV; MIM 608107) domain (PYD), followed by a NACHT domain, a NACHT-associated domain (NAD), and a C-terminal leucine-rich repeat (LRR) region. The long NALP, NALP1 (MIM 606636), also has a C-terminal extension containing a function to find domain (FIIND) and a caspase recruitment domain (CARD). NAL11 are implicated in the activation of proinflammatory caspases (e.g., CASP1; MIM 147678) via their involvement in multiprotein complexes called inflammasomes.
