Preparation | This monoclonal antibody was purified from tissue culture supernatant via affinity chromatography. The purified antibody was conjugated under optimal conditions, with unreacted dye removed from the preparation. It is recommended to store the product undiluted at 4°C, and protected from prolonged exposure to light. Do not freeze. |
Application Notes | This antibody preparation has been quality-tested for flow cytometry using mouse spleen cells, or an appropriate cell type (where indicated). The amount of antibody required for optimal staining of a cell sample should be determined empirically in your system. It is recommended to use the Transcription Factor Staining Buffer Kit (TNB-0607-KIT) for optimal staining results with this antibody. |
Storage Conditions | 2-8°C protected from light |

Background
The MF23 antibody reacts with mouse Foxp3, a 50-55 kDa transcription factor which is a central regulator of T cell activity and is critical for the development and function of regulatory T cells (Tregs). Foxp3 is a member of the forkhead box or winged helix family of transcription factors and is expressed at constitutively high levels in Treg cells. Forced expression of Foxp3 in conventional T cells results in the upregulation of Treg associated molecules such as CD25, CTLA-4, and GITR and is sufficient to impart suppressive functional activity to these cells.
