Function | Recruits the ubiquitination machinery to RNA polymerase II for polyubiquitination, removal and degradation, when the transcription-coupled nucleotide excision repair (TC-NER) machinery fails to resolve DNA damage (PubMed:35633597). May promote the degradation of ANXA2 (PubMed:27121050). |

Background
This gene is a novel gene isolated based on its expressionin the human adrenal gland. The full-length protein encoded by thisgene contains a UBA-domain (ubiquitin associated domain), which isa motif found in several proteins having connections to ubiquitinand the ubiquitination pathway. In addition, the protein contains aregion similar to a domain found in members of the atrophin-1family. The function of this protein has not been determined.Additional alternate splice variants may exist, but their fulllength nature has not been determined.
