|Other Names||Protein Jade-1, Jade family PHD finger protein 1, PHD finger protein 17, JADE1, KIAA1807, PHF17|
|Target/Specificity||The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP13432a was selected from the N-term region of PHF17. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.|
|Format||Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.|
|Storage||Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20°C.|
|Precautions||This product is for research use only. Not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.|
|Function||Component of the HBO1 complex which has a histone H4- specific acetyltransferase activity, a reduced activity toward histone H3 and is responsible for the bulk of histone H4 acetylation in vivo. Transcriptional coactivator, it may also promote acetylation of nucleosomal histone H4 by KAT5. Promotes apoptosis. May act as a renal tumor suppressor. Negatively regulates canonical Wnt signaling; at least in part, cooperates with NPHP4 in this function.|
|Cellular Location||Cytoplasm. Nucleus Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton, cilium basal body. Note=Localizes to the ciliary transition zone.|
|Tissue Location||Highly expressed in kidney. Also present in pancreas, liver and heart (at protein level). Down-regulated in renal cancer cells.|
