Clone Names | 100427022 |
Gene ID | 5741 |
---|---|
Other Names | Parathyroid hormone, PTH, Parathormone, Parathyrin, PTH |
Target/Specificity | The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP13695c was selected from the Center region of PTH. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay. |
Format | Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed. |
Storage | Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20°C. |
Precautions | This product is for research use only. Not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. |
Name | PTH |
---|---|
Function | PTH elevates calcium level by dissolving the salts in bone and preventing their renal excretion. Stimulates [1-14C]-2-deoxy-D- glucose (2DG) transport and glycogen synthesis in osteoblastic cells. |
Cellular Location | Secreted. |

Background
The protein encoded by this gene is a hormone secreted byparathyroid cells. This hormone elevates blood Ca2+ level bydissolving the salts in bone and preventing their renal excretion.Defects in this gene are a cause of familial isolatedhypoparathyroidism (FIH).
