Background
This gene encodes a transmembrane protein that is a memberof the soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor attachment proteinreceptor (SNARE) family. The encoded protein localizes to lateendosomes and lysosomes and is involved in the fusion of transportvesicles to their target membranes. Alternate splicing results inmultiple transcript variants.
