|Other Names||Transforming growth factor beta-2, TGF-beta-2, BSC-1 cell growth inhibitor, Cetermin, Glioblastoma-derived T-cell suppressor factor, G-TSF, Polyergin, Latency-associated peptide, LAP, TGFB2|
|Target/Specificity||The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP1476b was selected from the C-term region of human TGFB2. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.|
|Format||Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.|
|Storage||Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20°C.|
|Precautions||This product is for research use only. Not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.|
|Function||TGF-beta 2 has suppressive effects on interleukin-2 dependent T-cell growth.|

Transforming growth factor-beta 2 (TGF-β2) is a cytokine that performs many cellular functions and has a vital role during embryonic development. It is an extracellular glycosylated protein. It is known to suppress the effects of interleukin dependent T-cell tumors. There are two named isoforms of this protein, created by alternative splicing of the same gene.
