Background
This gene was identified by its low or completely missingexpression in esophageal squamous cell carcinomas. Normalexpression of the gene occurs in the esophagus, stomach, smallintestine, colon and placenta. Alternatively spliced transcriptvariants that encode the same protein have been identified.
