Background

This gene encodes an enzyme that catalyzes the second stepof glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) biosynthesis, which is thede-N-acetylation of N-acetylglucosaminylphosphatidylinositol(GlcNAc-PI). Study of a similar rat enzyme suggests that thisprotein localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum. [provided byRefSeq].
