Background
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of thetranscription cyclin family. These cyclins may regulatetranscription through their association with and activation ofcyclin-dependent kinases (CDK) that phosphorylate the C-terminaldomain (CTD) of the large subunit of RNA polymerase II. This geneproduct may play a dual role in regulating CDK and RNA polymeraseII activities.
