Background

This gene is upregulated in inflammatory diseases, and itwas first observed as expressed in the differentiated layers ofskin. The most interesting aspect of this gene is the differentialuse of promoters and terminators to generate isoforms with uniquecellular distributions and domain components. Alternatively splicedtranscript variants encoding different isoforms have beenidentified for this gene.
