|Other Names||Deoxynucleoside triphosphate triphosphohydrolase SAMHD1, dNTPase, 315-, Dendritic cell-derived IFNG-induced protein, DCIP, Monocyte protein 5, MOP-5, SAM domain and HD domain-containing protein 1, SAMHD1, MOP5|
|Format||Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.|
|Storage||Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20°C.|
|Precautions||This product is for research use only. Not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.|
|Function||Host restriction nuclease that blocks early-stage virus replication in dendritic and other myeloid cells. Likewise, suppresses LINE-1 retrotransposon activity. May function by reducing the cellular dNTP levels to levels too low for retroviral reverse transcription to occur. May play a role in mediating proinflammatory responses to TNF-alpha signaling.|
|Tissue Location||Expressed in heart, skeletal muscle, spleen, liver, small intestine, placenta, lung and peripheral blood leukocytes. No expression is seen in brain and thymus|

This gene may play a role in regulation of the innateimmune response. The encoded protein is upregulated in response toviral infection and may be involved in mediation of tumor necrosisfactor-alpha proinflammatory responses. Mutations in this gene havebeen associated with Aicardi-Goutieres syndrome. [provided byRefSeq].
