Background
This gene encodes a member of the Polycomb group proteins. These proteins form the Polycomb repressive complexes which areinvolved in transcriptional repression. The encoded protein bindshistone peptides that are monomethylated at lysine residues and maybe involved in regulating homeotic gene expression duringdevelopment.
