LAMP2 Antibody (C-term) Blocking Peptide - Additional info
| Gene ID 3920 | |
| Target/Specificity The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP1824b was selected from the C-term region of human LAMP2. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay. | |
| Format The synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml deionized water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml. | |
| Storage Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20°C. | |
| Precautions This product is for research use only. Not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. | |
LAMP2 Antibody (C-term) Blocking Peptide - Protein Information
| Name LAMP2 | |
| Function Implicated in tumor cell metastasis. May function in protection of the lysosomal membrane from autodigestion, maintenance of the acidic environment of the lysosome, adhesion when expressed on the cell surface (plasma membrane), and inter- and intracellular signal transduction. Protects cells from the toxic effects of methylating mutagens | |
| Cellular Location Cell membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. Endosome membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein Lysosome membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. Note=This protein shuttles between lysosomes, endosomes, and the plasma membrane | |
| Tissue Location Isoform LAMP-2A is highly expressed in placenta, lung and liver, less in kidney and pancreas, low in brain and skeletal muscle. Isoform LAMP-2B is highly expressed in skeletal muscle, less in brain, placenta, lung, kidney and pancreas, very low in liver | |

BACKGROUND
LAMP2 is a member of a family of membrane glycoproteins. This glycoprotein provides selectins with carbohydrate ligands. It may play a role in tumor cell metastasis. It may also function in the protection, maintenance, and adhesion of the lysosome.
