|Other Names||E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase Arkadia, 632-, RING finger protein 111, RNF111|
|Format||Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.|
|Storage||Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20°C.|
|Precautions||This product is for research use only. Not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.|
|Function||Acts in the NODAL pathway of mesoderm patterning during embryonic development. Acts downstream AXIN1 as an E3 ubiquitin- protein ligase which promotes the ubiquitination of inhibitory SMADs such as SMAD7, induces their proteasomal degradation and thereby enhances the transcriptional activity of TGF-beta and BMP. Activates Smad3/Smad4-dependent transcription by triggering signal-induced SnoN degradation. Associates with UBE2D2 as an E2 enzyme.|
|Cellular Location||Nucleus. Cytoplasm. Note=Upon TGF-beta treatment, translocates from nucleus to cytosol|
|Tissue Location||Broadly expressed.|

The protein encoded by this gene contains a RING fingerdomain, a motif known to be involved in protein-protein andprotein-DNA interactions. The mouse counterpart of this gene(Rnf111/arkadia) has been shown to genetically interact with thetransforming growth factor (TGF) beta-like factor Nodal, and act asa modulator of the nodal signaling cascade, which is essential forthe induction of mesoderm during embryonic development.
