Background
This gene is homologous to the yeast gene SGT1, whichencodes a protein involved in kinetochore function and required forthe G1/S and G2/M transitions. Complementation studies suggest thatthe human protein has similar functions. Two transcript variantsencoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
