|Other Names||DNA helicase MCM9, hMCM9, Mini-chromosome maintenance deficient domain-containing protein 1, Minichromosome maintenance 9, MCM9, C6orf61, MCMDC1|
|Format||Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.|
|Storage||Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20°C.|
|Precautions||This product is for research use only. Not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.|
|Function||Component of the MCM8-MCM9 complex, a complex involved in homologous recombination repair following DNA interstrand cross-links and plays a key role during gametogenesis. The MCM8- MCM9 complex probably acts as a hexameric helicase downstream of the Fanconi anemia proteins BRCA2 and RAD51 and is required to process aberrant forks into homologous recombination substrates and to orchestrate homologous recombination with resection, fork stabilization and fork restart.|
|Cellular Location||Nucleus. Note=Localizes to nuclear foci and colocalizes with RAD51.|

Provided below are standard protocols that you may find useful for product applications.
MCM9, a member of the MCM2-8 family, binds to chromatin and is required for the recruitment of the MCM2-7 helicase onto chromatin. MCM9 can form a complex with Cdt1. It is thought that MCM9 might play an important role in DNA replication since its depletion results in its inhibition.
