|Other Names||Nucleolar protein 56, Nucleolar protein 5A, NOP56, NOL5A|
|Target/Specificity||The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP2847c was selected from the Center region of human NOL5A. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.|
|Storage||Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20°C.|
|Precautions||This product is for research use only. Not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.|
|Function||Involved in the early to middle stages of 60S ribosomal subunit biogenesis. Core component of box C/D small nucleolar ribonucleoprotein (snoRNP) particles. Required for the biogenesis of box C/D snoRNAs such U3, U8 and U14 snoRNAs.|
|Cellular Location||Nucleus, nucleolus. Cytoplasm. Nucleus, nucleoplasm|

Nop56p is a yeast nucleolar protein that is part of a complex with the nucleolar proteins Nop58p and fibrillarin. Nop56p is required for assembly of the 60S ribosomal subunit and is involved in pre-rRNA processing. NOL5A is similar in sequence to Nop56p and is also found in the nucleolus.
