|Target/Specificity||The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP2888a was selected from the N-term region of human CAPZB. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.|

|Function||F-actin-capping proteins bind in a Ca(2+)-independent manner to the fast growing ends of actin filaments (barbed end) thereby blocking the exchange of subunits at these ends. Unlike other capping proteins (such as gelsolin and severin), these proteins do not sever actin filaments. Plays a role in the regulation of cell morphology and cytoskeletal organization.|

CAPZB is a member of the F-actin capping protein family. This protein is the beta subunit of the barbed-end actin binding protein. The protein regulates growth of the actin filament by capping the barbed end of growing actin filaments.
