|Other Names||Insulin-like growth factor-binding protein 1, IBP-1, IGF-binding protein 1, IGFBP-1, Placental protein 12, PP12, IGFBP1, IBP1|
|Format||Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.|
|Storage||Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20°C.|
|Precautions||This product is for research use only. Not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.|
|Function||IGF-binding proteins prolong the half-life of the IGFs and have been shown to either inhibit or stimulate the growth promoting effects of the IGFs on cell culture. They alter the interaction of IGFs with their cell surface receptors. Promotes cell migration.|

This gene is a member of the insulin-like growth factorbinding protein (IGFBP) family and encodes a protein with an IGFBPdomain and a thyroglobulin type-I domain. The protein binds bothinsulin-like growth factors (IGFs) I and II and circulates in theplasma. Binding of this protein prolongs the half-life of the IGFsand alters their interaction with cell surface receptors. [providedby RefSeq].
