Background
This gene was isolated using microarray hybridization toscreen for gene expression differences between fetal and adulttestes. The conserved testis development-related genes found inboth human and mouse testes may include genes that are likely to beinvolved in testicular functions, including spermatogenesis. Thisgene had higher expression in adults, compared to 6-month embryos.The specific function of this gene product has not been determined.Alternative splicing has been observed at this locus and threetranscript variants, each encoding a distinct isoform, have beenidentified.
