Target/Specificity The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP6571b was selected from the C-term region of human ENDOG. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Format Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.

Function Cleaves DNA at double-stranded (DG)n.(DC)n and at single-stranded (DC)n tracts. In addition to deoxyribonuclease activities, also has ribonuclease (RNase) and RNase H activities. Capable of generating the RNA primers required by DNA polymerase gamma to initiate replication of mitochondrial DNA (By similarity).

ENDOG is a nuclear encoded endonuclease that is localized in the mitochondrion. The protein is widely distributed among animals and cleaves DNA at GC tracts. This protein is capable of generating the RNA primers required by DNA polymerase gamma to initiate replication of mitochondrial DNA.
