|Other Names||40S ribosomal protein S18, Ke-3, Ke3, RPS18, D6S218E|
|Target/Specificity||The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP6887c was selected from the Center region of human RS18. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.|
|Format||Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.|
|Storage||Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20°C.|
|Precautions||This product is for research use only. Not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.|
|Function||Located at the top of the head of the 40S subunit, it contacts several helices of the 18S rRNA.|

Provided below are standard protocols that you may find useful for product applications.
Ribosomes, the organelles that catalyze protein synthesis, consist of a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit. Together these subunits are composed of 4 RNA species and approximately 80 structurally distinct proteins. This protein is a ribosomal protein that is a component of the 40S subunit. The protein belongs to the S13P family of ribosomal proteins. It is located in the cytoplasm.
