|Calculated MW||66051 Da|
|Application & Usage||The peptide is used for blocking the antibody activity of MBD4. It usually blocks the antibody activity completely in Western blot analysis by incubating the peptide with equal volume of antibody for 30-60 minutes at 37°C.|
|Other Names||Methyl-CpG-binding domain protein 4, 3.2.2.-, Methyl-CpG-binding endonuclease 1, Methyl-CpG-binding protein MBD4, Mismatch-specific DNA N-glycosylase, MBD4, MED1|
|Formulation||50 µg (0.5 mg/ml) in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 50% glycerol, 1% BSA and 0.02% thimerosal.|
|Reconstitution & Storage||-20 °C|
|Precautions||MBD4 Blocking Peptide is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.|
|Function||Mismatch-specific DNA N-glycosylase involved in DNA repair. Has thymine glycosylase activity and is specific for G:T mismatches within methylated and unmethylated CpG sites. Can also remove uracil or 5-fluorouracil in G:U mismatches. Has no lyase activity. Was first identified as methyl-CpG-binding protein.|
