|Calculated MW||37437 Da|
|Application & Usage||The peptide is used for blocking the antibody activity of Fas/Apo1. It usually blocks the antibody activity completely in Western blot analysis by incubating the peptide with equal volume of antibody for 30-60 minutes at 37°C.|
|Other Names||Tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 6, Apo-1 antigen, Apoptosis-mediating surface antigen FAS, FASLG receptor, CD95, Fas, Apt1, Tnfrsf6|
|Formulation||50 µg (0.5 mg/ml) in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 50% glycerol, 1% BSA and 0.02% thimerosal.|
|Reconstitution & Storage||-20 °C|
|Precautions||Fas/Apo1 Blocking Peptide is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.|
|Function||Receptor for TNFSF6/FASLG. The adapter molecule FADD recruits caspase-8 to the activated receptor. The resulting death- inducing signaling complex (DISC) performs caspase-8 proteolytic activation which initiates the subsequent cascade of caspases (aspartate-specific cysteine proteases) mediating apoptosis. FAS- mediated apoptosis may have a role in the induction of peripheral tolerance, in the antigen-stimulated suicide of mature T-cells, or both (By similarity).|
|Cellular Location||Membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein|
|Tissue Location||Detected in various tissues including thymus, liver, lung, heart, and adult ovary|
