|Calculated MW||51373 Da|
|Application & Usage||The peptide is used for blocking the antibody activity of ILK1. It usually blocks the antibody activity completely in Western blot analysis by incubating the peptide with equal volume of antibody for 30-60 minutes at 37°C.|
|Other Names||Integrin-linked protein kinase, 18.104.22.168, Ilk|
|Formulation||50 µg (0.5 mg/ml) in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 50% glycerol, 1% BSA and 0.02% thimerosal.|
|Reconstitution & Storage||-20 °C|
|Precautions||ILK1 Blocking Peptide is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.|
|Function||Receptor-proximal protein kinase regulating integrin- mediated signal transduction. May act as a mediator of inside-out integrin signaling. Focal adhesion protein part of the complex ILK-PINCH. This complex is considered to be one of the convergence points of integrin- and growth factor-signaling pathway. Could be implicated in mediating cell architecture, adhesion to integrin substrates and anchorage-dependent growth in epithelial cells. Phosphorylates beta-1 and beta-3 integrin subunit on serine and threonine residues, but also AKT1 and GSK3B (By similarity).|
|Cellular Location||Cell junction, focal adhesion. Cell membrane; Peripheral membrane protein; Cytoplasmic side. Cytoplasm, myofibril, sarcomere. Cell projection, lamellipodium|
|Tissue Location||Highly expressed in lung, heart, kidney, liver, brain, spleen and skeletal muscle. Weakly expressed in testis|
